A buyer of greeting cards from the ColourFlux Shop wanted a larger version of the illustrations of birds with nests for on the wall. After a little check to see if the illustrations were suitable for printing in larger size, I went right to work with them. I was able to make two nice framed prints of the dunnock and chiffchaff with nest.
By the end of 2022, I did another fun commision – a digital Christmas card for the company Purive. I haven’t done any digital illustrations for a while, so a good time to pick it up again.
Besides commissioned illustrations and paintings, I also enjoy doing my own projects. This waterfall is one of those own projects. This waterfall painting is made at A2 size and I created it with watercolour paints on cold pressed watercolour paper.
In the summer of 2021, I did a very nice project, which was a painting of someone’s sports car in a The Fast & the Furious scene. Again, a very different commission than I had done before.
Recently, I was commissioned to do a completely different project than I have done before: a tattoo design! It is a tattoo design of three roses with grass.
Building on the flaming heart painting of FC Twente, I worked for a client on the Ajax logo, also with a flaming heart. The design is composed of several things. The background has the colours of the Ajax-flag, the logo itself is a combination of the old and new logo, three championship stars have been added above the logo and all Dutch and European titles have been added.
In this article I describe two projects in which digital illustrations have been used.
This illustration of a vase with an autumn bouquet was a commission assignment. It is my very own design. I think it turned out to be a nice illustration, in which I have applied my own illustration style.
